Healthy and Safety at Gosselin Moving

Creating a safer, healthier workplace for our people

At Gosselin, health and safety goes beyond preventing accidents. We create safe working environments, support the physical and mental wellbeing of our colleagues, and give our people the opportunity to learn, develop and thrive — because the people who pack, load and deliver your move deserve the same care we give our customers.

More than safety: a broader approach to employee wellbeing

At Gosselin, health and safety has evolved beyond accident prevention. Safe working conditions and legal compliance remain essential for a physically demanding job like moving, but we also look at the wider employee experience, from ergonomics and psychosocial wellbeing to learning and personal development.

Safety

Preventing accidents and creating safe working conditions are fundamental to how we operate, whether in the warehouse, on the road or in a customer's home. We identify and manage risks, pay attention to ergonomics for our packing and moving crews, and continuously work to improve our working environments.

Wellbeing

A healthy workplace is about more than physical safety. We support psychosocial wellbeing, work-life balance and a positive working environment where people feel supported and connected.

Development

We believe people should have opportunities to learn and grow throughout their time at Gosselin. Training, personal development and new responsibilities all play a role in helping our colleagues thrive.

How we support our people

Safety is fundamental at Gosselin Moving

Safety starts with creating working environments where people can do their jobs safely and confidently — from careful lifting and packing techniques to safe driving on international routes.

We focus on preventing workplace accidents, identifying and managing risks, and continuously improving working conditions. Ergonomics is also an important part of our approach, helping us create workplaces that support people's health and comfort.

Meeting legal and regulatory requirements is fundamental to how we operate. But compliance is the starting point, not the end goal. We continuously look for ways to strengthen our safety culture and make health and safety part of everyday decision-making.

Supporting employees from their first day

Looking after our people starts when they join Gosselin. We see onboarding as more than introducing someone to a new job. It's about helping new colleagues settle in, find their place and feel supported from the beginning.

Getting settled

During their first year, HR regularly checks in with new employees to see how they are settling into their role, whether their expectations are being met and where they may need additional support or development.

A familiar face from day one

Every new colleague is paired with an experienced "godmother" or "godfather" from another department. They provide an informal point of contact for questions, advice and practical guidance, while helping new employees discover Gosselin beyond their immediate team.

Health and safety across Gosselin

Health and safety isn't confined to one department. It is embedded across the organisation through collaboration between the people who shape our policies and the moving crews who put them into practice every day.

HSE: Identifying risks and driving health and safety initiatives.

HR: Supporting employee wellbeing, development and feedback.

Quality: Helping maintain consistent processes and standards on every move.

Operations: Applying safe working practices in our day-to-day moving activities.

Gosselin Moving continuously improves its approach

Continuously improving our approach

A healthy and safe workplace is never a finished project. As Gosselin grows and the way we move people and their belongings evolves, we continue to listen, learn and improve how we support our people.

Because ultimately, health and safety is about creating the conditions for people to work safely, feel valued and thrive at Gosselin.
