The Silk Road, a route of collaborations

The Silk Road: Contemporary Art and Artists from Italy is an exhibition that travels the ancient trading route connecting China with the West. With offices located along the entire Silk Road area from the Caucasus and Central-Asia to Europe, Gosselin has shown it is the perfect partner for this project.

An art move of 30 cubic meters that needs to be transported is a challenge on its own, but this particular move had to be shipped via air freight. “The route itself presented many risks, and the cargo was heavily insured,” John Braeckeveldt, Regional Manager for the Caucasus explains. “In addition, the different customs procedures were complex and comprehensive, so we opted for air freight instead of road transport.”

All 37 extremely valuable artworks including paintings, installations, and sculptures were carefully packed in cooperation with the museum and then sealed with wax seals. “Gosselin has a good reputation for moves like this,” John adds. “We have the know-how, our own customs bonded warehouses with 24/7 security, and offices along the entire Silk Road.” This whole project is a beautiful example of in-house collaboration, with several different Gosselin offices working together to get the job done.

As of this writing, the art exhibition is currently on display at the Georgian National History Museum in Tbilisi. The exhibition presents a panorama of extraordinary contemporary Italian art from 38 different artists, from the late 1960s to the present day. It will eventually end up in China.

Moving art via the lagoons of Venice

When a valued partner from China needed the transport of 28 crates of artwork in Venice, the request arrived at Gosselin Italy at the very last minute. Thanks to the seamless collaboration between Gosselin’s branches and offices, the lead was quickly picked up and coordinated across teams.

More Than a Move: A Friendship Built on Trust and a Love for Cats

The story begins in October 2024, when the customer arrived in Italy under a military contract and Neno was their designated move coordinator. They bonded over a love for cats and remained friends throughout their stay in Italy. When it was time to return home, two years later, Gary and Shannon immediately contacted Gosselin again.

Perfect timing and white gloves – another Gosselin fine art move handled with precision

Renoir, Degas, Signac, Pissarro, … It’s the names of the latest artist’s works that Gosselin moved for Christie’s, a world-renowned auction house. The four paintings were flown from the UK to Kazakhstan and were already the third assignment for the same customer.
